Faith United Reformed Church, is a young, growing church made up of men and women and children of all ages. We come from a variety of backgrounds, but what we have in common is that we trust in Jesus Christ as our Savior and Lord. We rejoice that we are not our own, but belong to our faithful Savior, in body and soul, in life and in death.

How do we live? We gladly strive to follow God's will for our lives because we are filled with thankfulness for the salvation He has given us. "And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him." (Colossians 3:17). We want you to know the hope of God's salvation and the joy of His service!

How do we worship? A very important part of our thankful living is our worship on Sunday mornings and evenings. The goal of our worship is to glorify God, not ourselves. In the Bible, God teaches us how to worship Him in a way that reflects His holiness and the joy of His salvation.

We give praise and thanks to God by singing. We cast our concerns upon Him in prayer. We read the Bible and listen to the Lord instruct and teach us. Although many view this style of worship as old-fashioned, we believe the Bible teaches us something different -- namely, that through the preaching God speaks to us and gives us faith.

United Reformed -- We are a member of the body of churches called the United Reformed Churches in North America. This union exists for the purpose of exercising and displaying the unity that we have in Christian faith and confession. Please read on for more about our beliefs.

Our Congregation's History
Faith United Reformed Church began with a group of twelve families who left a local Christian Reformed Church, convinced it was inappropriate for them to remain in this denomination given its changing direction. These families wanted to remain faithful to Scripture and the Reformed confessions.

They first met for Sunday worship on November 24, 1996. From the start, they experienced countless mercies from the Lord, including direction and oversight through the Lynwood United Reformed Church, different buildings in which to worship according to the changing congregational needs, and various ministers and seminary students to fill their pulpit until calling their first pastor in 1998.

Faith URC has experienced steady growth, in more than one way, throughout her eleven years in existence. The Lord has added families to the congregation and children to the families, given spiritual growth through a constant supply of biblical teaching , and supplied office-bearers and servants of all kinds.

When the congregation moved into her newly constructed facilities in April of 2006, she had special opportunity to reflect upon the gracious providences of the Lord over the past decade. Truly, He has provided all things so wonderfully and faithfully, beyond what one could ask or think. "To Him be glory in the church, by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen!" (Ephesians 3:21)

Our Pastor
Rev. Todd Joling graduated from Mid-America Reformed Seminary in Dyer, Indiana, and was ordained and installed at Faith URC on October 10, 1998.He and his wife, Joy, have been blessed with three children.
